What do Dutch Culture & Big Data have in Common?

Last week 23 students from all over Europe joined a course at TU Delft on Big Data. Due to our strong bond with TU Delft we were asked to contribute to BEST Delft’s course theme on Big Data which perfectly aligns with our business.

As a Dutch company with an international focus, we decided it would be a good idea to host a fun session on Dutch culture through a game night with Dutch cocktails. Throughout the evening our BEST participants not only had the opportunity to learn about Dutch cultural icons and legends such as “Hans-the boy who stuck his finger in the dike to save Holland” and our beloved King and just why the color orange is so important to the Netherlands, but they also had the opportunity to get a feel of what it would be like to work for a technology company in the Netherlands.

At Sample Solutions we care about empowering the next generation of technology students and entrepreneurs. One way we do this is through sponsoring our local Board of European Students of Technology at the Technical University of Delft. BEST is a student driven non-profit in over 33 countries with 96 local groups dedicated to helping European students in technology oriented fields to become more internationally minded, by reaching a better understanding of European cultures and developing capacities to work in an international environment.
