1

Project Background

The project objective was to evaluate the market potential and gather valuable insights from decision-makers on their views about a solution that meets the energy efficiency needs of the water treatment industry while fostering sustainability and operational excellence.

2

Project Challenges

One of the key challenges in this research revolved around understanding and addressing the factors that influence the adoption of the new energy efficiency solution within the target market.

While the new energy-efficient solutions offer a promising value proposition, we needed to answer the question of how the solution’s benefits are perceived, which may not always be clearly communicated or fully understood by potential adopters.

Additionally, aligning the solution with existing sustainability initiatives within the industry had to be taken into consideration as a challenge, as businesses may be hesitant to integrate new solutions that require adjustments to established practices.

3

Solution Provided

For this study, we have opted for a quantitative research approach through an online survey targeting 50 key decision-makers in the water and wastewater treatment sector. The participants were sourced primarily from North America (USA and Canada) and France, with additional input from English-speaking countries in the European Union. The survey was available in both English and French to ensure accessibility and inclusivity.

A 15-minute online survey was distributed to participants via email. The survey covered various aspects, including awareness of energy efficiency solutions, perceived benefits and challenges, and likelihood of adoption. The fieldwork was completed within a time frame of less than two weeks to ensure timely feedback and minimize delays.

4

Sampling Process

A targeted selection ensured that the feedback reflected the perspectives of those directly involved in or influencing energy efficiency decisions within their organizations.

1

Industry Selection

Participants were carefully selected based on their industry and job titles to ensure relevant and actionable insights. The study focused on professionals in the water and wastewater treatment sector, including both public utilities and private organizations.

2

Targeting

The selected job titles included Plant Managers, Maintenance Managers, Energy Managers, Operations Managers, and Purchase Managers, ensuring feedback from those directly involved in or influencing energy efficiency decisions.

5

Results and Outcomes

The findings of this study identified key target segments within the water and wastewater industry, enabling a focused approach to market entry.

Research Outcome

The research highlighted the solution’s competitive advantages while uncovering areas for improvement to enhance its market appeal.

Key Take-aways

These insights will support the development of targeted marketing and sales strategies, ensuring the solution effectively meets the needs of its intended audience and strengthens its position within the industry.

6

Conclusions

The study highlights a significant market potential for the proposed energy efficiency solution within the water and wastewater treatment industry. The research aimed to explore the perceived value proposition of the new energy efficiency solution within the target market, identify the primary barriers to its adoption, and assess how the solution aligns with existing sustainability initiatives in the industry.
