{"id":21433,"date":"2021-07-22T15:33:12","date_gmt":"2021-07-22T15:33:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sample.solutions\/?p=21433"},"modified":"2024-03-27T13:54:20","modified_gmt":"2024-03-27T13:54:20","slug":"july-highlights-sample-solutions-at-the-9th-esra-conference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sample.solutions\/it\/events\/july-highlights-sample-solutions-at-the-9th-esra-conference\/","title":{"rendered":"July Highlights: Sample Solutions at the 9th ESRA Conference"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ul class=\"wp-block-gallery alignleft columns-1 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-2 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\"><li class=\"blocks-gallery-item\"><figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sample.solutions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/512x512bb.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"21502\" data-link=\"https:\/\/sample.solutions\/july-highlights-sample-solutions-at-the-9th-esra-conference\/512x512bb\/\" class=\"wp-image-21502\"\/><\/figure><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following up on the ESRA 2019 presentation\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.europeansurveyresearch.org\/conferences\/programme?sess=7#31\"><em>Using Big Data to Decrease Coverage \u2013 Error and Sample Bias in European Establishment Surveys<\/em><\/a>\u201d this year at the 9th ESRA 2021 conference that was held virtually on the 2nd of July 2021, our colleague Nikola Jovanovski presented the overview on the latest developments we made.&nbsp;<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.europeansurveyresearch.org\/conf2021\/uploads\/102\/3288\/8\/Ways_of_Reducing_coverage_and_sampling_error_as_part_of_the_Total_Survey_Error_Framework_for_Establishment_Surveys_in_Europe__Recent_Developments_.pdf\">\u201cWays of reducing coverage and sampling error as part of the Total Survey Error Framework for Establishment Survey in Europe; recent developments\u201d<\/a> is the title of this year&#8217;s research paper which addresses 3 important research questions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>\u26ab How can Big Data be used for increasing the telephone coverage in the Sampling Frame?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u26ab How can the Sampling frame go online, for a mixed mode sampling approach?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u26ab How can we ensure sample\u00a0 data accuracy and validity in an international and longitudinal study?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-gallery columns-1 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-3 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\"><li class=\"blocks-gallery-item\"><figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sample.solutions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/Screenshot_3-1024x549.png\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"21440\" data-link=\"https:\/\/sample.solutions\/?attachment_id=21440\" class=\"wp-image-21440\"\/><\/figure><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The paper outlines the enrichment methodology covering the whole frame for both online and offline mode by using the Full Sampling Method; It starts with the business register where multiple traditional sources are merged and blended\u00a0 into one, evaluate the variables available, enriching the unavailable data and where needed generating and validating email addresses in order to complete the full data set.\u00a0<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-gallery columns-1 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-4 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\"><li class=\"blocks-gallery-item\"><figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sample.solutions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/Screenshot_4-1024x601.png\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"21446\" data-link=\"https:\/\/sample.solutions\/?attachment_id=21446\" class=\"wp-image-21446\"\/><\/figure><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The benefits of using the proposed strategies compared to the traditional ones are detailed rich Sample Data that contains more data elements than any other individual sources.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u26ab Data accuracy is validated through multiple sources. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u26ab Combining online and offline mode in survey fieldwork which brings increased coverage as more Sample data can be reached via phone or email. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u26ab One centralized source containing comprehensive data for all EU 27 countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Looking back at the ESRA 2019 future action steps 3 out of 5 are fully accomplished and 2 are still pending. The ones that are completed are: Using Big Data to identify company size on businesses with unknown size, include a validation step in the enrichment process to lower data inaccuracy and last but not least source contact person data and email.
