Sample Solutions is going to ESRA in Milan

Excited to Participate at ESRA 2023

Milan, Italy is gearing up to host the highly anticipated bi-annual conference of the European Survey Research Association (ESRA) next week from the 17th to the 21st of July. After the previous edition which was in Summer 2021, was organized virtually due to the active pandemic, we are most looking forward to this edition being once again face-to-face.

The event promises to bring together leading researchers, practitioners, and industry professionals from across Europe to discuss and share insights on survey research methodologies and innovations. Among the esteemed participants, are Sample Solutions and its smaller core representatives for Lifepanel. We are more than thrilled to be actively engaged in the conference with the acceptance of five abstracts for presentation.

We are proud for being able to contribute to the ESRA conference through 4 of our colleagues who will be presenting their research findings and ideas. With five accepted papers focused on both traditional telephone survey sampling and online probability panel recruitment and development, our company demonstrates our commitment to advancing the field of survey research and dedication to remaining at the forefront of industry trends.

The papers cover a range of topics. We will present our latest research findings in the following sessions and dates:

  • Measuring the efficiency of RDD sampling in a national research study on women victims of domestic violence in Brazil by Marija Nasevska in the session: Creating a Physically and Psychologically Safe Research Environment on Tuesday 18 July, 14:00 – 15:30

  • Sampling Migrants? A probability-based approach using social media screening by Carsten Broich and Jacob Lagerstedt, Norstat in the session: Sampling migrants in general population surveys 1 on Thursday 20 July, 09:00 – 10:30

  • An evaluation of RDD Sampling for Computer-Assisted Telephone Interviewing (CATI) as a viable substitute for Face-to-Face surveys in adverse events by Nikola Jovanovski in the session: Challenges and Consequences of Switching Face-to-Face Population Surveys to Self-Completion (Mixed-Mode) Designs 2 on Thursday 20 July, 14:00 – 15:30

  • Comparing effectiveness in panel recruitment via piggyback on existing surveys versus direct recruitment in building an online European Probability panel by Nikola Jovanovski in the session: Cross-national probability-based web or mixed mode panels 3 on Friday 21 July, 09:00 – 10:30

  • Where are my completes? Leveraging different response modes in a German online probability panel by Nadica Stankovikj in the session: Using Internet Surveys in Cross-National Research on Friday 21 July, 09:00 – 10:30

The ESRA conference offers an ideal platform for our colleagues to once again connect and network with fellow researchers, academics, and professionals in the field. With attendees from diverse backgrounds and organizations, the event presents a unique opportunity to foster collaborations, share best practices, and build new partnerships.

By engaging in meaningful conversations and knowledge exchange, we hope to enrich our understanding of emerging trends and challenges in survey research, while also showcasing our expertise and innovative solutions to a wider audience.

Feel free to drop our colleagues a message on LinkedIn in case you want to connect during the conference, or even better – after conference hours.

We are also looking forward to ‘sampling’ some of the local but world-renowned Italian cuisine once there.
